It's an oldie...
This is a poem that literally popped into my head one night about five years ago. I had a fever of about 103, and I must have been hallucinating...
No One Remembers the Coiling Snake
Remembering the wastelands
Blisstering cold
Holding on to time while the sands fall free
Waiting for the snake that coils and no one sees
Watch the sand below as it writhes with life,
only to bring death to those that weep
Watch the sands of time coil like snakes on fire
Watch the snake that coils just like your life
So the sun is setting, watch the branches fall
'Cause out here in the desert,
The strongest tend to fall
Wait, but don't see what's going on in the life
of a coiling snake, let it go.
